These General Terms and Conditions are intended to regulate the operation of the Best Bank App and the Best Trading Pro App.
To provide a clear understanding of their functions and requirements, we have prepared this document, which should be read together with the Information on Personal Data Processing and the Privacy Policy, which are always kept up to date on this website.
A
1 - Best Bank App
1.1 - The Best Bank App is a remote banking service specially developed for access via iOS and Android mobile devices, which allows Best Bank Private Customers(“Customers”), after entering their user code and numeric access password, to make enquiries and carry out the financial transactions permitted at any given time in the Best Bank App menu.
1.2 - These general conditions supplement the provisions of the General Conditions for Opening and Operating naAccount and Custody of Securities, in particular the provisions of Section I - General Conditions for Use of Means of Communication,ataDistance whereby anything not expressly regulated in these conditions shall be governed by the provisions of those conditions.
1.3 - To use the Best Bank App, the Customer must:
Download the App from the Store
Install the App on their device
Register on the App
Registration on the Best Bank App is necessary because: We need to validate through a user code, access password and single-use codes sent to devices previously validated by Best Bank. Only after the correct validation of these elements will you have access to:
View account balances and transactions
Performing operations such as transfers, buying and selling financial assets
Making payments for services/state, or through MB WAY
Personal data previously provided to Best Bank
Without successful registration, access to Best Bank cannot be granted. This registration may not be completed successfully due to technical or security constraints.
If you do not have an account with Best Bank, you can open an account remotely using a digital mobile key or video call (only documents from Portugal, Spain, Italy and France).
2 - Unofficial distribution operating systems
2.1 - Whenever the Customer accesses the Best Bank App developed for iOS and Android mobile devices, Best Bank has security mechanisms in place to protect the data communicated to it.
2.2 - The functioning of the security mechanisms referred to in the previous paragraph is not guaranteed when the Customer uses unofficial distribution operating systems, such as Jailbreak or Rooted, in which case their personal data may be viewed and used by unauthorised third parties. Best Bank advises against the use of such operating systems and is not responsible for any misuse of Customer data if they are used.
3 - Subscription and use of Best Touch or Best Face
3.1 - For iOS devices compatible with Apple's Touch ID or Face ID technology and Android devices compatible with Google's FaceAuthenticationorFingerprintAuthenticationtechnology, the Best Bank App offers membership of Best Touch or Best Face, which allows Customers to log in to the service and validate transactions using their fingerprint or facial recognition whenever they wish, without the need to enter a user code and access password or use another transaction validation system.
3.2 - Logging in and validating transactions using a fingerprint or facial recognition has the same legal and contractual effects as accessing the service using a user code and password and transaction validation mechanisms, with the other provisions of the General Conditions for Opening and Operating anAccount and Custody of Securities applying, in particular the provisions of Section I - General Conditions for Use of Means of CommunicationataDistance.
3.3 - Signing up for Best Touch or Best Face is done by registering on the Best Bank App, and the Customer must enter a validation code that will be sent to them by SMS. Signing up for Best Touch or Best Face implies that the Customer's fingerprint or face has been previously registered on the iOS or Android system.
3.4 - The Customer's fingerprint or facial registration is stored exclusively on their mobile device, and Best Bank has no record of it.
3.5 - The Customer may not allow third parties to register their fingerprints or facial images on their mobile device, as this would allow those third parties to access their bank details.
3.6 - Best Bank cannot be held liable for third-party access to the Customer's bank details under the terms of the previous paragraph.
3.7 - The Customer undertakes not to allow third parties to use their mobile device and, in the event of its loss in any way, to notify Best Bank immediately. Best Bank shall not be liable for any misuse of the Customer's mobile device by third parties.
3.8 - If, for any reason, the Customer wishes to cancel access to an associated mobile device, they must uninstall the Best Bank application from their initial mobile device and cancel access through their personal area on the Best Bank website. If the Customer does not follow this procedure, they will be liable for any damage resulting therefrom, except in the case of fault or wilful misconduct on the part of Best Bank.
4 - Permissions
By opening an account with Best Bank, you have already given permission for the processing of your personal data, in accordance with the General Conditions for Opening and Operating an Account and Custody of Securities, and Information on Personal Data Processing, in force at any given time.
The permissions requested by the Best Bank App are necessary in order to use some of its features.
4.1 - Contacts
To make transfers via MB WAY, access to the contacts stored on your device is requested:
Read your contacts
Modify your contacts
Find accounts on the device
4.2 - Telephone
To enable calls to be made from telephone numbers stored in the Best Bank App:
Dial telephone numbers directly, for example to the Customer Support Line
4.3 - Storage
Best Bank provides some documents in the Best Bank App (e.g. product documents or statements) that you may want to save on your device. To do so, you must authorise the downloading and saving of files on your device. On the other hand, you may want to send a document to Best Bank (e.g. to update your details), i.e. to upload files to Best Bank App. Both require:
Reading the contents of shared storage
Modifying/deleting the contents of shared storage
4.4 - Camera
This access allows you to send photos to Best Bank (e.g. your ID document for data updates). It also allows you to customise background images or images of yourself.
Take photos and videos
4.5 - Location
Only access approximate location in the foreground
Only access the exact location in the foreground
Your location will be used when you are in the Best Bank App and only in the following situations:
a) When searching for Investment Centres or Offices near you
b) To search for ATMs near you
c) To present products and services that are relevant, taking into account your location
If the Customer does not give authorisation, they will not receive the proposals/offers that will be presented to Customers who choose to activate this feature. The Customer can withdraw or activate geolocation permission at any time in their device settings.
4.6 - Other permissions
To enable general operations:
Use biometric hardware
Use fingerprint hardware
Prevent phone from going into sleep mode
Receive data from the internet
Run service in the foreground
Access Bluetooth settings
Control Near Field Communication (NFC))
Send your IP information
Read notifications
Install shortcuts
5 - Data collection and use
We collect and use data for:
App registration
Sending single-use codes
Purchase banking or insurance products and/or services
Maintaining customer or account data
This data is provided by you and is processed in accordance with what you have already accepted. In addition, the information you provide us with is regulated by law.
If you do not grant access permissions, the features will not work and attempting to use them may cause conflicts on your device.
6 - Miscellaneous
6.1 - These general terms and conditions may be amended at any time by Best Bank, with 15 days' prior notice sent to Best Bank Customers before they come into effect. If the C ustomer does not agree with the amendments, they must cease using Best Touch/Face or the Best Bank App, as applicable.
6.2 - These general terms and conditions are available for consultation at any time on the Best Bank website at www.bancobest.pt
6.3 - Best Bank may, at any time, make available or cancel features of the Best Bank App.

App Best Trading Pro
1. The Best Trading Pro App is a financial asset trading service specially developed for access via iOS and Android mobile devices, which allows Best Bank Customers to trade financial instruments at any time.
2. The Best Trading Pro App requires the prior conclusion of a financial asset trading agreement.
3. Access to the Best Trading Pro App is exclusively through the Best Bank App, using a single sign-on system, after validation of personal credentials as indicated in the previous points, thus ensuring the security of access and processing of customer data.
4. These general conditions complement the provisions of the financial asset trading agreement, and therefore, in all matters not expressly regulated herein, the provisions of those conditions shall apply.
5. Whenever the Customer accesses the Best Trading Pro platform website through the application developed for iOS and Android mobile devices, Best Bank and the Partner have security mechanisms in place to protect the data communicated to them.
6. The functioning of the security mechanisms referred to in the previous paragraph is not guaranteed when the Customer uses unofficial distribution operating systems, such as Jailbreak or Rooted, in which case their personal data may be viewed and used by unauthorised third parties. Best Bank advises against the use of such operating systems and is not responsible for any misuse of Customer data if they are used.
7. At the risk of unilateral termination of the service by Best Bank, the Customer must not access their trading service via App or browser when physically located in one of the countries with restricted access as indicated at all times in Condições Gerais do Contrato de Negociação de Ativos Financeiros, which currently include the following countries: Afghanistan, Anguilla, Belarus, Chad, Cyprus, North Korea, Canada, Cook Islands, Congo, Cuba, Eritrea, Fiji, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Libya, Myanmar, Maldives, Mali, Central African Republic, Russia, Samoa, Syria, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Turks and Caicos Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, USA, Ukraine, Vanuatu and Zimbabwe.
8. These general terms and conditions are available for consultation at any time on the Best Bank website at www.bancobest.pt.
9. Best Bank may, at any time, make available or cancel features of Best Trading Pro.
